Applique — Liftgate

Removal

NOTE: Liftgate applique pin-type retainers are one-time use only. If the liftgate applique is removed, new pin-type retainers must be installed.

1. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 .

2. Remove the liftgate applique nuts.

3. NOTE: The 3 outermost pin-type retainers on each side of the applique are the only pin-type retainers that are not accessible from the inside of the liftgate.

   Release all accessible liftgate applique pin-type retainers from the inside of the liftgate.

4. Pull outward on either end of the liftgate applique to release the remaining pin-type retainers and remove the liftgate applique.

Installation

1. Install new pin-type retainers to the liftgate applique.

2. Install the liftgate applique to the liftgate.

3. Install the liftgate applique nuts.
   • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

4. Install the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 .
