GENERAL PROCEDURES	Procedure revision date: 05/02/2013

Locked Safety Belt Retractor Releasing

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

Release the safety belt.
1. Allow the safety belt webbing to retract back into the safety belt retractor.
1. Extract the safety belt webbing from the safety belt retractor.
  - If the safety belt does not extract and/or the D-ring bolt cannot be installed, install a new safety belt retractor. Refer to Safety Belt Retractor — Second Row, Outboard, With Inflatable Shoulder Belt .

NOTE: During installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the active restraint system for correct operation. Refer to Component Tests and the appropriate Functional Test procedure in Safety Belt System .
